THE TRUTH OF GANN--BASIC CHARTS 1 of 3

BLANK GRAPH PAPER and MR. GANN's
FIVE (5) CHART SCALES

In the background of this one small sketch, below, we show what just about everyone should be some what familiar with, and that is a "blank," or clear, section of graphing paper and its "grid".  This type of pre-printed "blank graphing paper" was widely available in the U.S. from about the time of the Civil War, or about 1861-1865.  AS most traders and lay persons already know for themselves, it is still widely used today to construct graphs and charts, eventhough, the majority of that work is now being done via computers and simple software.

While W.D. Gann "may have" actually hand drawn some "blank graph paper" to placed his daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly "chart data" on,  in order to "graph it," we see little to no reason why he would do that EXCEPT, unless, he wanted to construct a "special" or "un-common" type chart that would not fit to the typical blank graph paper available at the time.

Here in the 21st century, there is ABSOLUTELY NO CHART that cannot be produced, or reproduced, on a computer screen by software and then printed out on nearly any modern day printer.  Needless to say, that GANN "myth" is totally bogus, and it's just one of the many "myths" that we debunk in our quest for the TRUTH OF GANN.

From the few charts we have seen that were CLAIMED to have been "hand drawn" by Mr. Gann himself, some of which where small and others that were the size of a kitchen table top, we THINK the only "custom charts" that he produced were the very few "daily charts" that he, "apparently," wanted to be continuous and in one piece.

Needless to say, this would be kind of like having a rolled up set of house plans rather than on multiple, but "standard," sheets of graph paper pieced together in order to "view" the longer term, and wider view trends

ANYWAY, the KEY POINTS pertaining to Mr. Gann "charts," or "graphs of chart data," is shown on the graphic below, and details about the FIVE (5) SCALES that he actually employed for all his charts are cover here and elsewhere in the Gann free section... which most of you have arrived from to get here.

Lesson two and three, pertaining to BASIC GANN CHARTING and covering major and minor ticks, size of chart square IS NOT the same thing as a GANN SQUARE, and ANGLES are the key...is reserved for subscribers to our Forecasting Service.
